Tidewatch Command

Tidewatch Command drops you on a scattered chain of islands and asks you to link them into something that survives the storms. It's a strategy game built around planning rather than reflexes — you set routes, balance resources and defend against seasonal tides, then watch it unfold.

What makes it click offline is that time only moves when the app is open. There are no timers ticking while you sleep and no push to log back in. You play a stretch, tuck the phone away, and pick up exactly where you stopped. That design choice alone made it a keeper for us.

The difficulty curve is fair but not soft; a few of our early islands drowned before we understood the tide patterns. Once it clicks, though, the loop of expand-defend-optimize is quietly addictive.
