Emberfall Saga
Emberfall Saga is the kind of offline RPG we keep hoping to find more of. You lead a small band across a dying kingdom, and combat is classic turn-based with a timing twist — nail the button press on impact and your hits land harder. It sounds minor until you're twenty fights deep and it becomes second nature.
The writing surprised us. Party members actually talk to each other between battles, and choices in a few key scenes shift how they treat you later. It's not a huge branching tree, but it's enough to make the world feel lived-in. Everything downloads up front, so there's no streaming and no interruptions in a dead zone.
Our only gripe is the inventory screen, which gets cramped once you're juggling a lot of gear. Otherwise this is a generous, complete adventure that respects offline play the way it should.
