Casinacho Games

★★★★☆ 4.4 Editor rating

Casinacho Games is one of those apps you keep on the phone for the exact moment your commute stalls. It's a bundle of short, self-contained minigames — reaction taps, tile matching, a little timing challenge with falling shapes — all tied together by a clean menu and a soft color palette that doesn't burn your eyes at night.

We spent a week bouncing between the modes and the standout for us was the tile-sorting game, which starts gentle and quietly ramps up until you're genuinely concentrating. Controls are pure touch: tap, hold, drag. Nothing needs two hands, which is the whole point on a crowded train. Progress and your best times are stored locally, so airplane mode changes nothing.

It won't hold your attention for hours in one sitting, and it isn't trying to. Casinacho Games is a snack, not a meal — a few tidy rounds, a small sense of getting better, then back in your pocket. For that role it does the job well, and it never once asked us to reconnect.
